Chapter 100

Chapter 100. The Lab Rats’ Rebellion (2)

“Confirm what?”

No. 8 asked, confused.

Yukgap pointed at the sprayer on his back.

“That thing you’ve been carrying around. Touch it yourself.”

No. 8 casually reached for the sprayer, which had been split in half.

Heat radiated from it.

“It’s hot.”

“Exactly.”

Yukgap nodded.

“Ordinary pathogens probably couldn’t survive that.”

No. 8’s eyes widened.

“Don’t tell me... you deliberately missed with the flamethrower earlier because of this?”

While piloting that crude aircraft, Yukgap had attacked him several times with the flamethrower.

The accuracy had been so terrible that No. 8 had dismissed it.

But Yukgap had never been aiming for him in the first place.

“You get way too careless in the sky.”

Yukgap smirked.

“You were deliberately dodging our attacks by a hair just to piss us off.”

“So I pretended to miss and aimed for the pathogens you were carrying on your back instead.”

The repeated bursts of flame had heated the sprayer.

And since the bacteria inside were vulnerable to heat, they had all died.

The outcome was cleaner than No. 8 had expected.

“Hehehe.”

No. 8 chuckled lightly as he accepted his defeat.

“You really got me good this time.”

Yukgap waved him off.

“Then go back.”

“You lost today.”

“You’re leaving me here?”

No. 8 looked genuinely confused.

“We can simply create another mutant strain.”

“Wouldn’t it make more sense for you to finish me off now that you have me cornered?”

Yukgap asked casually,

“Lambda, No. 11.”

“How long does it normally take him to formulate enough bacteria to infect an entire city?”

“About three days.”

“But right now he’s doing it once every day.”

Yukgap’s eyes narrowed.

“That has to be putting some kind of strain on him.”

He bent down and picked up Robert’s severed head.

Then he said flatly,

“In a tug-of-war, the side that holds out until the end wins.”

“I’m just trying to make sure you collapse before we do.”

With that, Yukgap became a yellow streak and vanished from sight.

Left alone, No. 8 could only laugh helplessly.

“You truly are an interesting man.”

“What is this?!”

No. 11 exploded with rage as he stared at the sprayer split cleanly in half.

“It is exactly what it looks like.”

No. 8 calmly reported what had happened.

“No. 6 attacked me.”

“The sprayer was destroyed.”

“And every bacterium inside it died.”

No. 11 stared at him in disbelief.

“What kind of ridiculous report is that?”

“Do you have any idea how much effort it took me to create that mutant strain?!”

“But it already happened.”

No. 8’s answer contained no emotion whatsoever.

It was basically saying, It’s done. What do you expect me to do about it?

“Come on, calm down.”

No. 7 casually stepped in.

“It already happened, right?”

“Getting angry won’t bring your mutant bacteria back to life.”

“Why don’t you just make some more?”

No. 11 snapped at her.

“It isn’t that easy!”

“Have you forgotten what kind of organism I was fused with?”

He raised one of his plump arms.

Bubble-like lumps were boiling beneath his skin.

Among the Twelve Archons, No. 11 possessed the most abnormal body.

And that body came from the nature of the organism fused with him.

“I am a chimera fused with bacteria.”

“My entire body is essentially one gigantic colony.”

“The mutant bacteria I intended to release today were part of my own body!”

No. 7 and No. 8 answered with complete indifference.

“You regenerate anyway.”

“Correct.”

No. 8 nodded.

“Your greatest advantage is that you can recover almost indefinitely as long as you have warmth and water.”

Neither of them seemed remotely interested in how much suffering No. 11 was enduring.

No. 11 stared at them in disbelief.

“Every time I create a mutant strain, I have to alter the composition and structure of my own body!”

“And we’re not targeting some tiny village anymore.”

“We’re trying to infect entire cities!”

“Every time I do that, I lose a significant portion of my body!”

His voice rose.

“Do you have any idea how difficult it is to repeatedly alter my physical structure in such a short period of time?!”

No. 11 was being completely serious.

The response was painfully dry.

“I don’t really know.”

“I cannot imagine it either.”

No. 7 and No. 8 both looked entirely uninterested.

In a way, that was only natural.

No. 11 possessed the strangest body among all Twelve Archons.

How could any of them truly understand what he experienced?

“If I make even one mistake while altering the composition, my entire body could collapse!”

No. 11 grabbed his smooth bald head and screamed.

“That is why I normally change the composition gradually over three days!”

“But now I’m rebuilding my body every single day!”

He gritted his teeth.

“And the antibodies are spreading far faster than expected!”

“I don’t know what they’re doing, but now if I don’t create a new mutant strain every half day, they catch up immediately!”

“And this time, I was attacked and lost the mutant strain itself!”

“That is unfortunate.”

No. 8, who technically bore some responsibility for what had happened, replied blandly.

Despite his words, his face showed absolutely no regret.

No. 11 grabbed him almost pleadingly.

“You said you met No. 6.”

“He is probably working with whoever is interfering with us.”

“Do you know anything?”

“Alpha gave me no specific orders regarding that matter.”

No. 8 answered with his usual emotionless expression.

“So I did not investigate it.”

“I know nothing.”

His mechanical attitude made No. 11 groan.

“Ugh... what
