Chapter 7

Chapter 7. Blazing Salmon Rice Bowl (2)

[Pitiful lumps of flesh who require constant organic consumption. Sit in the empty seats.]

Robert stepped forward to greet the new customers.

The men who had just entered looked at him with interest.

“What’s this?”

“Some kind of kiosk?”

“Then why does it talk to customers like that?”

Yukgap quickly stepped in for Robert.

“Ah, sorry about that. Our waiter’s a little rude. Sit anywhere. Just order whatever you want and I’ll make something suitable, so don’t worry too much.”

The men glanced toward Jeonghan and Yuhan and became interested in what they were eating.

“Hey, what are those guys having?”

“That? Salmon rice bowls.”

At Yukgap’s explanation, the men exchanged glances and nodded.

The man in front placed the order.

“Looks good. We’ll have the same thing.”

“Sure. Wait a bit.”

Yukgap immediately headed toward the kitchen.

The men loudly chatted among themselves and took empty seats.

Then one of them noticed Victoria sitting in a corner.

“Hey, miss.”

“Me?”

Victoria tilted her head.

She apparently had not expected him to speak to her.

The man openly showed interest.

“You work here?”

“For now. Why?”

One of his companions pointed toward an empty seat with a grin.

“Nothing special. We just wanted to have a drink.”

Victoria smiled and deliberately provoked them.

“Really? I can drink a lot. Are you confident?”

“Perfect. We can drink a lot too.”

Victoria cheerfully took an empty seat.

Then she looked around at the men.

“Great! Then I can order the drinks, right?”

“Of course!”

The men already seemed delighted just because Victoria had sat among them.

Victoria immediately called Robert.

“Waiter! Bring us the most expensive alcohol in the restaurant!”

A red light appeared in Robert’s eyes.

A valve emerged from his body with a mechanical hum.

[Producing edible ethanol known to cause hypertension, diabetes, and fatty liver disease.]

Alcohol began pouring from the valve.

Robert filled their glasses with liquor made inside his own body and presented them to the men.

[This is edible ethanol that will cause your bodies to deteriorate through your own actions. Consume it.]

“This kiosk is useless. Everything it says kills the mood.”

The man beside Victoria glared at Robert.

Victoria picked up her glass first.

“So, you’re not drinking?”

At those words, the men immediately grabbed their glasses.

“Of course we are!”

“Obviously!”

“Hahaha! Cheers!”

Their faces were full of strange excitement.

Victoria, sitting in the middle of them, raised her own glass.

“Cheers!”

“Salmon rice bowls are ready!”

Yukgap came out carrying enough bowls for all the men.

But for some reason, the men who had ordered them were completely drunk and collapsed across the tables.

“Gulp, gulp!”

Victoria was the only one still sitting upright, calmly emptying another glass.

Yukgap stared at her.

“What happened to all of them?”

“They said they wanted to drink, so I played with them a little.”

Victoria put down her empty glass with a satisfied smile.

Yukgap knew her methods well enough by now.

He sighed.

“Seriously. You found another group of suckers.”

“Suckers? Making customers spend money is part of my duty as the owner!”

Plenty of men tried flirting with Victoria because of her young and exotic appearance.

Victoria took advantage of that and pretended to play along, encouraging them to order expensive alcohol.

The problem was that Victoria had an absurdly high alcohol tolerance.

In the months Yukgap had known her, he had never once seen her drunk.

“More importantly, these guys tried something funny with me.”

Victoria reached into the pocket of one of the unconscious men and pulled out a small packet.

Even at a glance, it looked suspicious.

“What’s that?”

“A crude mixture of sedatives, muscle relaxants, and several hallucinogens. Absolutely amateurish. They dumped several packets of this into my drink.”

Victoria shook the packet with disgust.

Apparently, the men had drugged her glass while trying to take advantage of her.

“You knew and drank it anyway, right?”

Yukgap asked casually.

This was hardly the first time Victoria had done something like this.

“Of course. A lady should never refuse a drink offered to her.”

Victoria smiled and pulled out a syringe.

Then she casually tilted her head back.

She inserted the needle directly into a blood vessel in her neck.

Red blood slowly filled the syringe.

“And thanks to them, I’ve already produced an antiserum for this crude drug.”

There was another reason Victoria acted so fearlessly.

Poisons did not work on her.

Even if she swallowed something toxic, her body immediately broke it down and allowed her to create an antiserum.

It was an extremely convenient body.

“What are you planning to do?”

Yukgap asked with concern.

Victoria looked at the syringe filled with her blood serum and smiled.

“Men who behave badly toward a lady need to be taught some manners, don’t you think?”

Her wicked smile reflected across the surface of the syringe.

“When these scoundrels wake up, they’ll probably experience withdrawal symptoms they’ve never felt before. Then maybe they’ll think twice before putting drugs into a lady’s drink.”

With that, Victoria stabbed the syringe into the neck of one of the unconscious men.

“We’re here!”

“We came to eat!”

A few days later, Jeonghan and Yuhan visited the restaurant again.

Yukgap greeted them warmly.

“You’re here. Same menu as always?”

The brothers answered without even needing to think.

“Of course!”

“Nothing here is better than the salmon rice bowl.”

Their order had not changed.

Victoria openly complained.

“Order something expensive for once. The restaurant needs to make money.”

Jeonghan glanced at her.

“By the way, Boss, did you do something to those guys who came here last time?”

“Why?”

Victoria asked.

The brothers shrugged as they explained what had happened.

“Apparently they got addicted to their own drugs, started fighting each other, and completely destroyed their own organization.”

“They even ended up calling the police on each other after beating each other up.”

It seemed the men had completely ruined themselves after the incident.

The brothers, who knew nothing about what had really happened, exchanged amused looks.

“A drug gang destroying itself because its members got addicted to their own product. You couldn’t write a better comedy.”

“I guess drugs really are dangerous.”

Victoria smiled brightly when she heard the news.

“Really? That’s unfortunate.”

She did not look unfortunate at all.

If anything, she seemed quietly pleased.

The brothers looked at her suspiciously.

“You really didn’t do anything to them, did you?”

“We saw you drinking with them last time.”

Victoria gave them a mysterious smile.

“Gentlemen, it’s better not to dig too deeply into a lady’s secrets.”

Yukgap watched her with an exhausted expression.

“Sigh. Sometimes I think the scariest thing in this restaurant is the owner.”

Victoria offered him advice.

“That’s why you shouldn’t do bad things. People always end up paying for their sins somehow.”

“There are plenty of people who do terrible things and live just fine. What kind of nonsense is that?”

Yukgap snorted.

Victoria gave him a probing look.

“Our chef saying something like that makes it sound like you have a lot weighing on your conscience.”

“Who knows.”

Yukgap shrugged.

“I’ve done so many bad things that I don’t even remember most of them.”

“Target located.”

No. 6 muttered into his radio.

Ahead of him, a brown-haired woman was pushing a stroller while walking through a park.

No. 6 watched her carefully and waited for instructions.

Before long, a command came through the radio.

[Track and eliminate.]

“Understood.”

No. 6 answered lightly.

He did not question orders.

He did not attach emotion to them.

Obeying commands and killing his targets was what he had always done.

It was what he would continue doing.

But for some reason, that day, his attention went to the stroller the target was pushing.

“She has a stroller. There’s a baby inside.”

[And?]

A dull voice responded through the radio.

No. 6 stared at the stroller and asked,

“Do I kill the baby too?”

[The baby is not a target.]

“Understood.”

A simple answer.

Everything became clear.

No. 6 slowly grabbed the dagger at his waist.

Then he followed the target.

The woman did not seem to realize he was following her and pushed the stroller toward a nearby wooded area.

Is she trying to hide?

No. 6’s eyes sharpened.

It was pointless.

He had no intention of letting the target escape.

And she would not be able to escape anyway.

“Wait!”

Suddenly, the target turned around and raised her voice toward No. 6.

Fear filled her voice.

“You’re from Abraxas, aren’t you? I know who you people are. I sold corporate secrets to a rival company, so I knew a day like this would eventually come.”

No. 6 glared at her.

“Don’t even think about running.”

“I’m not. I know escaping from you is impossible.”

The target seemed to have accepted her fate.

That made sense.

No. 6 was the fastest among the Twelve Archons.

The fact that Abraxas had sent him meant they desperately wanted her dead.
