Chapter 70, Chaos
“How about making the buildings Eastern-style? I looked some up online, and Japanese or Joseon-style buildings looked really cool! Especially things like traditional Korean hanok!”
Hwa-ryeon stuck close to Eriel and me, enthusiastically preaching about the beauty and greatness of Eastern-style architecture as though trying to persuade us.
“I found something called cyberpunk quite appealing. Arcanepunk has its own charm as well, so that doesn't seem bad. Personally, steampunk also looks rather nice...”
Arlin freely revealed her hidden tastes and explained the perfection of each style in an attempt to convince us.
Hwa-ryeon getting excited beside me was one thing.
But I hadn't expected even Arlin to get this worked up.
After all, wasn't Arlin normally calm all the time?
The usual Arlin and the Arlin currently giving an enthusiastic explanation about the unique advantages of cyberpunk and arcanepunk didn't quite match.
Still, I could understand why she was so excited.
The Mystery known as the Inner World was an entire world that could be transformed in countless ways according to its owner Eriel's will.
Things that couldn't exist in reality because they violated the laws of physics, such as magical engineering cities or floating islands, could be recreated here.
On top of that, unless something extraordinary happened, the Inner World would be our home and base for perhaps half our lives.
Hwa-ryeon and Arlin were excited at the thought of turning their personal fantasies into reality inside that home.
“...Yeonhee, what would you like?”
I asked Lee Yeonhee, who was unusually quiet.
Arlin and Hwa-ryeon were making a huge fuss behind us, but Yeonhee simply smiled and said she was fine with anything.
Surprisingly, Lee Yeonhee really didn't assert herself much.
It didn't seem like she lacked confidence and was afraid to give her opinion.
She genuinely seemed to have no particular preference and was fine with anything.
“Then Bias. What would you like?”
Bias, who had been silently watching everyone else, stared blankly into the air when I asked.
It was almost as though she were looking at her own ideal world and slowly trying to describe it.
Bias spoke.
“I... um, I want it to snow!”
“And?”
“I want a library. A really, really huge library!”
As though that was everything she wanted, Bias stopped talking.
I had heard everyone's opinions now.
All that remained was to combine them and come up with a reasonable answer.
Then I realized something.
I hadn't asked the homeowner what she wanted.
That was close.
Even if Eriel had asked what I wanted, asking for her opinion was the bare minimum of courtesy.
I approached Eriel, who had been silently smiling at me.
“What would you like, Eriel?”
Her smile grew even wider.
“What I want is whatever Yuhyeon wants. You don't need to ask me. But if possible, I'd like the bedroom to be large.”
“...Ahaha.”
My head suddenly felt hot.
I said I understood and quickly moved past her comment before thinking about a proper compromise.
After a fairly long discussion, this was what we ended up with.
“So, you want a huge city with a Joseon cyberpunk background, buildings incorporating magical technology, constant snowfall, and an enormous library in the center?”
“Yep!”
“Yes!”
“Yes!”
“...But now that I think about it, do we really need to make it that huge? The larger it is, the more power Eriel will have to spend.”
I tried imagining a place containing every element they had mentioned.
What appeared in my head was an extremely complicated and horrifying hybrid.
Besides, we were only going to live in one house anyway.
Why did we need an entire metropolis?
I rejected their proposal and offered a different one.
They accepted my suggestion.
And so, the world we would live in was completed.
Recently, the Regression, Possession, Reincarnation Gallery had been in a state of chaos.
Of course, it was always chaotic.
But lately, it had gotten even worse.
It had probably started five days earlier, when the Gallery Master failed to enter the Gallery for a full six hours.
[Upvote if you think the Gallery Master losing his初心 is unforgivable, lol]
[Author: Kukudas]
[Starting with me, lol.]
└ For real, he doesn't check the Gallery for six whole hours?
└ Gallery Master already forgot his roots. He used to post at least once every hour.
└ How long ago was that supposed to be, lol.
└ Wasn't it less than a year ago? When did the Gallery Master first join?
└ Forget a year, I don't think it's even been half a year. Gallery Master is surprisingly a newbie.
└ So he already lost his初心 in less than half a year? Damn.
└ Gallery Master, if you're reading this, start posting once every hour immediately!
└ Come on, we can forgive six hours, lol.
└ For real, lol. Let the Gallery Master sleep, lol.
