Chapter 230. Entering India (3)
If all of these Constellations mobilized...
we would be annihilated.
Jason wasn’t exaggerating.
The ‘seven Constellations’ on Merlin’s side, whose names he had obtained from Hector, were truly among the greatest heroes in existence.
“This is a bit...”
Odysseus groaned while rubbing his chin.
“All seven of them... aren’t they heroes on Heracles’s level?”
“Even if their pure combat ability differs, their standing as heroes is by no means inferior.”
Arjuna looked equally grim.
“Every single one of them is a heavyweight among heavyweights.”
“The one fortunate thing is that Hector is no longer among those seven.”
“Even in the worst case, we should only have to deal with six.”
“Ah, about that.”
Jason, who was sitting beside us, spoke.
“Hector said they probably recruited someone new to replace him.”
“Who?”
“He said he didn’t know that much.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Odysseus collapsed into his chair and raised both arms.
“So now it’s six famous top-tier Constellations plus one completely unknown one.”
“It might actually have been easier to prepare if Hector had stayed.”
“Either way, if all seven of them deploy, can we actually handle them?”
“And Merlin will be there too.”
“I’m not sure...”
Watching Arjuna bite his lip in thought, Odysseus turned toward me.
“What do you think, Nameless King?”
“If every Constellation on this list mobilizes, it will be an extremely difficult battle.”
I had been considerably surprised by Jason’s information too.
This was practically a gathering made up exclusively of top-class heroes.
Most of these are names even ordinary people who know little about myths and legends would have heard at least once.
Each of them was a representative hero of an entire nation or mythology, backed by tremendous legends.
Our side also had many incredible heroes.
But heroes of that level were still rare.
“Among the people we currently have who could fight them and realistically win...”
I turned toward Arjuna.
“Arjuna, you’re probably one of them.”
“I would think so.”
As one of the greatest heroes of Indian mythology, Arjuna could stand against them.
Odysseus, on the other hand, was also an S-rank Constellation, but his direct combat power wasn’t on Arjuna’s level.
The same was true of most other Committee members.
“And... Finn Mac Cool might be able to do it too.”
The S-rank Constellation ‘Golden-Haired Knight Commander,’ Finn Mac Cool, was one of the representative heroes of Celtic mythology.
He had tremendous martial ability, and his standing as a hero was certainly not inferior.
“Among the Knights of the Round Table, Lancelot, Gawain, and Galahad should also be useful as combat forces.”
“But they are A-rank Constellations...”
“That’s the problem. Their Origin Power reserves probably aren’t that large either.”
The Knights of the Round Table had voluntarily lowered all their ranks to A in respect for their S-rank king, Arthur.
Because of that, their raw specifications were lower than those of S-rank Constellations.
“Jason, Theseus definitely agreed to cooperate?”
“Yeah. He promised.”
Jason nodded.
“Theseus has a bit of a rivalry complex toward Heracles, so once I pushed that angle, he responded pretty well.”
The S-rank Constellation ‘Hero Who Escaped the Labyrinth,’ Theseus, was a Greek hero famous for defeating the Minotaur.
He had also participated in the Argonaut expedition, which was why I had asked Jason to recruit him.
“I called a few other Argonauts too, but honestly, aside from Theseus, none of them can really stand against those guys.”
“Then our main fighting force is Arjuna, Finn Mac Cool, Theseus, and the Knights of the Round Table...”
Odysseus tilted his head.
“We should be able to handle four or five of them.”
“The problem is if they bring more than that.”
“Can’t we call Sun Wukong again?”
“Well...”
I sighed.
“Apparently, he ate too much fruit last time and something went wrong with his Constellation body.”
“What?”
“It seems to be something like a stomachache.”
"..."
Everyone fell silent.
“Isn’t he just making excuses?”
“I don’t know. Either way, it seems he doesn’t feel like helping this time.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me...”
Odysseus grabbed his head.
Jason chuckled at the sight.
“Still, don’t worry too much.”
“Don’t worry? Why not?”
“We’re not the only ones fighting.”
“Kang Yujin and the other Golden Ram Order members are already there.”
Jason spoke in a relaxed tone.
“He got beaten by Heracles last time, but Kang Yujin should still be able to put up a fight against those Constellations.”
"..."
“Especially if he lands his Awakening Skill. Wouldn’t even Heracles go down in one hit?”
“I think the odds are pretty decent.”
Jason sounded confident.
“Jason...”
“Hm? What, Odysseus?”
“They already know Kang Yujin is being deployed.”
“So naturally, they’ll have prepared a countermeasure.”
“A countermeasure?”
“Their Contractors are already in India.”
“And there are Vessels among them.”
"..."
That was right.
This battle wouldn’t be fought only by Constellations.
Their Contractors would be participating as well.
“This won’t do.”
Jason stood again.
“I’m going to meet every Constellation I know.”
“We need to increase our forces somehow.”
“Now? There isn’t much time left.”
“Can’t be helped.”
“We’ll just have to do our best until the last possible moment.”
Then Jason looked back at me.
“Nameless, did you contact the ‘Grand Preceptor of the Golden Whip’?”
“He said he wouldn’t get involved.”
The disposition of the S-rank Constellation ‘Grand Preceptor of the Golden Whip,’ Wen Zhong, was arguably closer to Siegfried’s side.
But whether because of his friendship with me or because he had his own considerations...
he had chosen to remain neutral this time.
“The Mountain-Sea Alliance seems to be taking the same position.”
The Investiture of the Gods Constellations belonging to the Mountain-Sea Alliance possessed tremendous combat power.
Their cooperation would have been an enormous help.
But with Wen Zhong, their leader, taking that position, there was nothing we could do.
“Can’t Princess Longji persuade them somehow?”
“I doubt it...”
“Tch. Guess there’s no helping it.”
Jason scratched his head vigorously.
“It’d be pretty funny if we go through all this preparation and both sides just probe each other before going home.”
“Yeah.”
It was certainly possible that both sides might merely test each other and stop there.
