Chapter 25
The self-proclaimed strongest man.
Deus.
The moment he opened his eyes,
he quietly studied the scenery around him.
The American continent possessed an enormous amount of land.
Because of that,
the United States had some of the world's most famous natural scenery.
The Grand Canyon.
Yellowstone National Park.
Countless incredible landscapes existed across the country.
But right now,
all of them suddenly felt meaningless compared to this place.
What is this energy flowing through the entire forest?
The moment Deus breathed in,
cold, unbelievably pure air entered his lungs.
It wasn't simply refreshing.
It felt as though impurities accumulated inside his body were being washed away.
Massive trees rose high enough to block the sky.
A curtain of mana spread through the air like emerald mist.
Even the sound of wind moving through the leaves felt unrealistically clear.
Does a place like this actually exist in the world? If I uploaded this to social media, people would accuse me of using AI.
Deus was a genuine social media addict.
Normally,
he would've immediately searched for the best angle and composition for a photo.
But not now.
The forest was overflowing with overwhelming life force.
It felt as though nature itself,
something too vast for humans to handle,
had appeared before him.
And that wasn't all.
His skill,
the Lightning Spirit Raizel.
Raizel was a summon that guarded Deus and remained cautious around everyone.
Deus had been seriously injured.
That meant Raizel should have been far more sensitive and hostile than usual.
Yet Raizel wasn't showing any caution at all.
It merely looked relieved that Deus's wounds were healing.
To Deus,
that was extremely strange.
Raizel actually allowed someone else to treat my wounds.
There were countless questions.
And at the center of all of them stood one man.
A mysterious man wearing a mask.
Deus had been watching him from the moment he woke up.
He appeared to be East Asian.
The power flowing from him felt strangely similar to the forest itself.
The overwhelming energy contained within the forest
also seemed to be condensed inside this man.
The moment Deus sensed it,
he reached one conclusion.
This man is the master of this forest.
People rarely said good things about Deus.
Judging only by his social media behavior,
he looked like an aggressive idiot who acted without thinking.
Because of that,
many people assumed Deus wasn't intelligent.
But Deus wasn't actually stupid.
Sometimes his emotions simply swallowed his reason.
And when he encountered something that required caution,
his mind worked even faster than usual.
This man is dangerous.
The master of an unnatural forest.
A man even Raizel didn't view as an enemy.
Someone capable of healing wounds that had nearly killed Deus.
Deus immediately classified him as a dangerous individual.
Unfortunately,
Kang Ha-min had no idea he was being evaluated this way.
Ha-min was currently too nervous thinking about something else.
He wanted only one thing.
Prevent Deus and Baek Cheon-myeong from fighting.
To do that,
he had to somehow convince Deus.
Think!
Remember all those years as a civil servant,
calming angry citizens down and sending them home!
It was time to return to being the friendly government employee who responded politely no matter what someone said.
"Are you awake?"
Kang Ha-min immediately spoke in English with a friendly voice.
Deus's body was still recovering.
Moving would probably be difficult right now.
On the other hand,
that made this the perfect time for conversation.
"Where is this? I should have arrived in South Korea."
Instead of answering directly,
Deus smoothly changed the topic.
He's cautious.
Deus had nearly died only a short time ago.
Of course he would be cautious.
Kang Ha-min still didn't realize how suspicious he himself looked.
"This space is part of my skill."
"I only brought you here because I needed the medicinal herbs growing inside to treat your wounds."
"You did reach South Korea."
Deus narrowed his eyes.
Treatment.
A skill.
He already understood that his wounds had been healed.
But there was something even stranger.
My body's vitality is higher than it was before.
Deus was considered to possess the greatest potential in Hunter history.
Naturally,
the United States had no reason not to invest heavily in him.
High-quality medicinal ingredients.
Elixirs.
Rare resources.
Deus had consumed almost everything money could buy.
At this point,
ordinary elixirs couldn't even create noticeable changes in his body.
Yet his vitality had risen enough to surprise even him.
And it's not just my vitality.
Mana flowed through his body.
It felt different.
...My total amount of mana increased?
His mana capacity hadn't moved for quite some time.
Yet now,
he could clearly feel that it had expanded.
He said medicinal herbs. What exactly did this man use to treat me?
And the man had personally said this entire space was created by his skill.
That meant the medicine had probably come from this place.
A skill that produces medicinal herbs of this quality?
Wasn't this something capable of rewriting the entire history of healing-type Hunters?
Deus had never heard of any healing-type Hunter possessing something like this.
