Chapter 11

# Chapter 11

“You're pretty impatient!”

Like a matador narrowly avoiding an enraged bull, Do-jin slipped sideways at the last moment and let the Three-Eyed Wolf's charge rush past him.

At the same time...

“GRAAAAAH!!!”

He drove his spear into the wound on the eye that had only just begun healing!

“For a Boss, your regeneration really is ridiculous. I was trying to keep your vision sealed!”

Do-jin decided to change his strategy slightly.

Before acquiring <Poison Heart (D)>, he had already consumed a considerable amount of mana while massacring the huge number of Gray Wolves.

That was why he had originally intended to use the undead to buy as much time as possible.

But there's no need for that anymore.

By absorbing the poisonous energy constantly released by the Three-Eyed Wolf, Do-jin had recovered a considerable amount of both mana and stamina.

Then should I try using that again after all this time?

It would also let him check his current condition.

“Grrrr...!”

Reading their master's intent, the undead withdrew from the Three-Eyed Wolf one after another.

The Three-Eyed Wolf blinked rapidly.

Its final remaining eye, the least damaged of the three, glared at Do-jin with murderous rage.

“Yeah, yeah... It must be annoying, right? We keep attacking your eyes, and all these piles of bones keep bothering you from every direction.”

If Do-jin had two talents that stood above ordinary people, one would be getting under someone's skin.

The other would be mana control.

As soon as they received their master's intent, the Crow Skeletons viciously began pecking at the Three-Eyed Wolf's eyes and forehead.

The wolf undead, meanwhile...

“Grrrr!”

...gathered beside Do-jin.

Then all five rushed forward together and began tearing into the Three-Eyed Wolf.

Almost as though they were deliberately making it clear who had ordered every one of those attacks.

Blood vessels bulged in the Three-Eyed Wolf's last remaining eye.

“Grrrr...”

Perhaps a fragment of reason still remained beneath the monster's wild instincts.

The instant rage toward Do-jin flashed through its eye...

Whoosh!

This time, it was not an attack from the undead.

Do-jin, whose mana control had been polished through countless real battles before his regression, formed an Aura Arrow over his bare hand.

Without even using a bow, he fired it.

The arrow of aura grazed across the Three-Eyed Wolf's face.

“GRAAAAAAAAAH!!!”

After having its eyes attacked again and again, even the Three-Eyed Wolf could no longer endure it.

Like an enraged bull, it charged straight toward Do-jin.

“GRRRAAAAH!!!”

The Three-Eyed Wolf was undeniably fast and powerful.

An ordinary Player probably would have panicked and been overwhelmed in an instant.

Unfortunately for the Three-Eyed Wolf...

Do-jin was anything but ordinary.

The Crow Skeletons were practically clinging to the monster's face.

Like the eagle pecking at Prometheus's liver, they struck with their hard beaks whenever the slightest sign of healing appeared in its eyes.

The larger and stronger Wolf Skeletons bit down on the Three-Eyed Wolf's hind legs.

Because of them, the Boss could barely move properly.

“Grrrrrr...!”

The Low-Grade Vampiric Wolf clung to the Three-Eyed Wolf's neck like a leech.

Meanwhile, the two relatively weaker Wolf Zombies climbed onto the monster's back and bit it repeatedly.

The raw attack power of the Low-Grade Vampire and Zombies was not particularly impressive.

But their secondary effects became increasingly obvious with time.

[The Three-Eyed Wolf's Health and Mana are continuously being depleted.]

[The Three-Eyed Wolf has been poisoned by Zombie Poison.]

[Health depletion accelerated.]

[-5% per minute.]

“So this is why Players like summoning creatures. It's really convenient.”

When the Three-Eyed Wolf thrashed violently in desperation, some of the wolf undead were thrown off, trampled, and destroyed.

But...

“Awaken.”

Fortunately, poisonous energy continued leaking from the Three-Eyed Wolf.

That meant Do-jin could continue recovering mana.

And monster corpses that could become new undead were scattered everywhere.

In other words...

He could continuously replenish his minions.

Amid the battle, Do-jin calmly organized his thoughts.

As expected, Zombies are tougher than Skeletons.

The new Level 1 Wolf Skeletons he had awakened during the fight were knocked away and shattered by the Three-Eyed Wolf's violent movements.

The Wolf Zombies, however, could endure two or three additional impacts despite being the same Level.

The difference is whether they still have muscles.

And even a Low-Grade Vampire seemed superior to a Zombie.

The other wolf undead had already been destroyed and replaced several times.

Yet the Low-Grade Vampiric Wolf continued holding on stubbornly.

Maybe I should keep the Vampiric Wolf around and raise it properly.

Do-jin reached a simple conclusion.

Then he continued observing the battle.

Perhaps because they were all Do-jin's minions, neither the Low-Grade Vampiric Wolf nor the Skeletons were affected by the Wolf Zombies' poison.

Only the Three-Eyed Wolf suffered.

Even though that poison had originally come from the Three-Eyed Wolf itself.

“So once poison mixes with my mana, it becomes an entirely new poison... Good!”

He had observed enough.

Do-jin leveled his spear.

He had no intention of leaving everything to his minions.

He might be a Necromancer now...

But before his regression, he had been a Magic Spearman.

“I'll handle the finishing blow.”

The Three-Eyed Wolf was enormous and highly poisonous.

But ultimately, it was still a Gray Wolf.

It was not especially intelligent.

It did not possess multiple hearts.

And its organs and general body structure were not radically different from real animals.

Cut its throat.

Pierce its heart.

Destroy its head.

Any of those would kill it.

Which method could the current E-rank Do-jin realistically use?

Pierce its heart.

Of course, even that would not be easy.

As a Dungeon Boss, the Three-Eyed Wolf was enormous.

Not quite as large as a bus...

But definitely larger than a medium-sized truck.

Naturally, the muscles and bones surrounding its heart were thick and tough.

It was not something an ordinary E-rank Hunter could easily penetrate with mana.

Especially not with a spear whose blade had already dulled after repeated use.

But Do-jin was ready.

“GRAAAAH!!!”

Whoosh!

CRACK!

CHOMP!

Perhaps its monster instincts sensed danger.

The Three-Eyed Wolf stopped caring about the undead hanging all over its body.

Now it charged directly toward Do-jin.

“Ha! Did you smell what I'm planning?”

But it was already too late to reach him.

Rather...

WHEEEEEEEEEENG...!

A strangely clear ringing sound, like iron striking glass, resonated through the air.

Do-jin's mana surged.

No.

It was Death Energy.

This was far denser and heavier than the killing intent carried by Warriors or beasts.

It was death itself.

Not merely refined mana.

But the pure will to bring death upon a target.

“...!”

That power fused with Do-jin's spear.

The result resembled an enormous cavalry lance.

Holding that spear of mana, Do-jin shot forward like a cannonball.

Straight toward the heart of the Three-Eyed Wolf, which did not even realize it had been driven into the encirclement created by Do-jin's undead!

SHRIIIIIIING...!

Under normal circumstances, Do-jin probably would not have been able to strike the Three-Eyed Wolf's heart.

But his body, launched like a projectile alongside the mana spear, smoothly adjusted its trajectory in midair.

From a straight line, Do-jin angled slightly downward.

Then he kicked off the ground.

CRACK!

“GRAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!”

Unable to stop its own momentum, the Three-Eyed Wolf passed above Do-jin.

And Do-jin drove the mana spear directly into its heart.

“Ghk... Grrrrk...!”

Its agonized roar gradually weakened.

Meanwhile, the violently swirling aura inside the wound tore the Three-Eyed Wolf's heart apart.

“...!”

Finally, the Boss's massive body collapsed to the ground.

It was Do-jin's first Boss kill since regressing.

Both the new Skill and the Title were excellent.

They would be an enormous help in future battles and leveling.

“Three Skills already, and two Titles.”

And then...

Inventory and Shop unlocked...

With these, purchasing and storing Items would become far easier for Do-jin than for ordinary Players.

The System resembled a game in many ways.

But there were also clear differences.

The Shop and Inventory were examples of that.

Players were not given either of them automatically.

Unless they obtained them through Quest rewards, Players could neither buy Items from the Shop nor store Items inside an Inventory.

That's why low-ranking Players became Dungeon porters after the Main Scenario began before my regression.

Do-jin's eyes moved rapidly but sharply across the notifications.

“...Finally.”

He could now awaken undead from all four Attributes.

And his maximum number of minions had increased to thirty.

Thanks to the <Challenger> Title, <Poison Heart> had also immediately risen to C-rank after being acquired.

His tactical options had expanded dramatically.

After confirming everything, Do-jin finally turned toward the viewer board.

- ...

- ...

The viewers had remained completely silent throughout the fight, watching the stream with bated breath.

Do-jin looked at them.

“So... how was it?”

He smiled.

“Did you enjoy the show?”

The instant the words left his mouth...

- [CHEERING GIF]

- WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

- oppaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

- [YoungMasterJang] donated 3,000 Gold.

- Ever thought about leaving Korea and making a name for yourself on the wider continent?

- [DesertPrince] donated 5 High-Grade Magic Stones.

- We can offer you much better terms over here.

Messages and donations poured in so quickly that Do-jin could not possibly read them all.

Individual notification windows covered so much of his vision that he could barely see.

Even so, Do-jin stubbornly sent one message to his Guild Master.

- That should be enough of a test, right?

- Cheerful Mask: ...

There was no reply.

But Do-jin knew better than anyone that her silence meant yes.

And at that moment...

The entire Player community exploded.

- AN UNDER ARENA HAS BEEN CLEARED!
