Chapter 28

Chapter 28. Seo Jooheon From Another World (2)

Jooheon placed his hand on the female Seo Jooheon's scabbard.

The instant he did, sharp anger flashed through her eyes.

“You dare touch my sword?”

Her blade roared violently.

The sword vibrated like a living creature, howling as though resonating with her rage.

Gram.

A sword that acknowledged only the one worthy of drawing it.

And now...

Gram was making its own judgment.

Seo Jooheon.

Was this man someone it should cut down?

Or someone worthy of holding it?

If anyone else had touched the weapon, the sword would've cut straight through to the bone.

But Jooheon's hand remained unharmed.

[Seo Jooheon]

[Majesty Ability Awakening]

[Stealing opponent's ability.]

Golden aura erupted from Seo Jooheon's body.

The female Seo Jooheon's brows trembled slightly as she realized something.

“...Don't tell me.”

“You just awakened your Majesty ability?”

That genuinely shook her.

Awakening shouldn't happen this quickly.

This man was a rookie Majesty.

So why...

Was it because he met me?

Then what ability had he awakened?

No.

That didn't matter.

I'll kill him before he can use it.

“No matter what ability you awakened...”

She tightened her grip on Gram.

“You still can't defeat Chief God-level Artifacts!”

She steadied her breathing and gathered strength.

Even if he tried to steal the sword, Gram wasn't a weapon just anyone could wield.

Like Excalibur, Gram was a mythical demonic sword that only a great warrior could draw.

But then...

The blade stopped moving.

“...?”

She pulled harder.

Nothing.

Gram didn't budge at all.

Almost as if it no longer recognized her as its owner.

Why...?

A terrible feeling crawled down her spine.

Then—

[Contract Terminated]

The familiar sight made her realize what had happened.

Her face twisted in fury.

“You copied my Majesty ability?!”

At the same time, Jooheon reached for Gram's hilt.

The woman let out a hollow laugh.

“Even if you did, Gram has usage requirements!”

Gram's condition was justice.

[Usage Requirement: Only a great warrior may draw this sword.]

“Someone as greedy as you can't even pull it out!”

But...

Gram slid smoothly free in Seo Jooheon's hand.

“...What?”

The female Seo Jooheon froze.

The sword offered no resistance whatsoever.

It moved into his hand as naturally as though it had accepted him as its master from the very beginning.

“This is... impossible.”

Shock and rage swirled across her face.

“Wait.”

“This isn't...”

This wasn't simple theft.

Her eyes widened.

[Mental Plunder]

Jooheon's true ability was activating.

[Sword of Justice: Gram]

Usage Requirement: Only a great warrior may draw this sword.

↓

[Sword of Justice: Gram]

Usage Requirement: Only a great villain may draw this sword. (Modified)

The female Seo Jooheon stared in shock.

“You...”

“What did you just do?”

Jooheon grinned.

“Plunder.”

“...?!”

She didn't even have time to react.

Jooheon swung Gram.

BOOOOOOM!

A shockwave erupted from the sword and tore through the center of the city.

It split the ruined sky.

The ground collapsed.

A massive sinkhole opened beneath them.

“Guh!”

The female Seo Jooheon lost her footing and fell straight into the collapsing earth.

Below her lay darkness with no visible bottom.

Jooheon watched her fall while casually tapping Gram against his shoulder.

“You had way too much good stuff all to yourself.”

He smiled.

“Learn to share.”

A furious scream rose from below.

“SEO JOOHEON—!!!”

She reached toward him.

Whether she was trying to grab him or do something else...

Even she probably didn't know.

Jooheon simply swung the sword once and spoke.

“Goodbye.”

“They say one of two doppelgängers has to die, right?”

“So let's never meet again.”

Then he quickly left the area.

Sweat covered his face.

His breathing was rough.

He hadn't actually defeated the female Seo Jooheon.

He knew he couldn't beat her head-on.

Even now...

All he'd done was create an opening and escape.

He had no choice but to admit it.

“...So that's a Majesty from another world.”

He glanced back.

“She's definitely strong.”

She was on a completely different level from Majesty Yoo Jaeha.

Jaeha was a creator-type Majesty.

Mostly defensive.

But that woman...

“A combat-type Majesty.”

Jooheon narrowed his eyes.

“Her Dominance is ridiculous.”

The Divine-Grade Artifacts targeting his world were already troublesome enough.

But apparently, the other Majesties were monsters too.

Which meant...

He needed power.

And the most useful Artifact nearby?

There is one.

Jooheon looked in a certain direction.

Not far away.

Toward Majesty Yoo Jaeha.

And Julian beside him.

Jooheon's eyes sharpened.

“Perfect.”

“Next stop... there.”

A violent pressure swept through the air.

Julian was freely displaying power bordering on divine.

Earlier, he'd merely intended to capture Jooheon.

Now things were different.

He was genuinely trying to erase Majesty Yoo Jaeha.

An attack resembling heavenly judgment descended toward Jaeha's head.

BOOOOM!

Shockingly...

Majesty Jaeha was fighting him evenly.

“Tch.”

“Artifact Creation.”

“<Aegis>.”

Majesty Jaeha dramatically swept his hand through the air.

Golden symbols poured from his fingertips and formed an object.

In an instant...

The legendary shield of Zeus from Greek mythology appeared in midair.

BOOM!

The shield blocked Julian's attack.

Then shattered like glass and disappeared.

Majesty Jaeha casually flicked his fingers.

“Next.”

“Artifact Creation.”

“Excalibur, Sword of King Arthur.”

A legendary blade capable of splitting battlefields with its name alone.

Light condensed into shape.

The weapon snapped neatly into Jaeha's hand.

It was nearly indistinguishable from a genuine Artifact.

A combat weapon of almost pure authenticity.

Jaeha swung it sideways.

BOOM!

The attack shot toward Julian.

Julian immediately countered.

“Tch.”

“He's fast!”

Jaeha tried to break through with the sword.

Julian gave him no time to find an opening.

Another attack came.

Jaeha reacted again.

“Artifact Creation.”

“Armor of Talos.”

Light wrapped around Jaeha's body.

Walls rose from the ground.

A massive shell formed around him, shaped almost like armor.

BOOM!

A tremendous shockwave erupted.

This defense held better than the last.

It could probably endure several more hits.

Still...

Julian's power was stronger.

That should be enough time.

Every Artifact Jaeha had created so far was valuable.

But they were all just stalling tools.

While those treasures bought him time...

His real creation formula was finally completed.

“To kill a combat-type Divine-Grade Artifact...”

He smiled coldly.

“You need something on the same level.”

Glowing letters rose around Jaeha.

“It's unstable...”

“But it's complete.”

The Majesty insignia on his palm flashed.

Light and metal formed in his hand.

“A sealing device.”

His eyes sharpened.

“The Chains of Enkidu.”

A tool designed to seal Julian...

And kill him.

Jaeha gripped the chains.

“Now...”

“Disappear from my sight.”

Just as he was about to activate them—

BOOOOM!

Something exploded above.

Someone dropped from the sky.

“...!”

Jaeha instinctively looked up.

A figure was falling with Rope.

That...

That's Seo Jooheon?!

He didn't look concerned for anyone.

He descended straight toward Jaeha...

And kicked him.

CRACK!

The Artifact flew from Jaeha's hand and rolled across the ground.

Majesty Jaeha staggered backward after taking the hit directly.

“...What the hell are you doing?!”

Jooheon shouted right back.

“You crazy bastard!”

“If you use that, Julian will actually die!”

Jaeha stared.

“...What?”

“That's the point!”

Jooheon's eyes widened in outrage.

“He's my Artifact!”

Majesty Jaeha went silent.

His Artifact?

What the hell was he talking about?

“Julian is a valuable Artifact I'm planning to use from now on!”

Majesty Jaeha stared at him in disbelief.

“What?”

Jooheon looked toward Julian.

“That body.”

“That potential.”

“That performance.”

He gestured enthusiastically.

“Do you have any idea how valuable a Majesty Killer like him is?”

“If he listens, I'll use him as a test subject.”

“If he doesn't, I'll tear him apart and modify him.”

“He's useful either way!”

Jooheon exhaled and stared at Julian.

“And killing him here would just be a waste.”

He clicked his tongue.

“Artifacts are meant to be worked until they're worn to nothing.”

“Even after they turn to ash, you squeeze out whatever value remains.”

Majesty Jaeha's lips twisted with anger.

“Fuck.”

“Didn't you say earlier you'd hand him over for the bounty?”

Jooheon shrugged.

“A few coins aren't worth it.”

He grinned.

“Not when every other Majesty is terrified of this Artifact.”

Majesty Jaeha felt a murderous impulse.

Meanwhile...

Julian stood at a distance and quietly watched them.

What are they planning?

Majesty Jaeha, on the other hand, looked half amused and half exasperated.

His patience was reaching its limit.

“So?”

“You're saying he's valuable, so you're taking him?”

Well...

Julian was a Majesty Killer.

He would certainly be useful.

And considering those were important Artifacts specially selected and distributed by that Majesty...

Jaeha could understand the logic.

But he'd already warned Jooheon not to say naive nonsense.

“That thing has no intention of letting either of us live.”

He looked at Jooheon.

“You seem to be misunderstanding something.”

“That's not Julian from your world.”

He snorted.

“You're too soft.”

Jooheon slowly raised one hand.

“I told you.”

“I'm not being nice.”

Jaeha's eyebrow twitched.

“What?”

Jooheon smiled.

“I picked up a new ability.”

A Majesty insignia flared over his hand.

A power capable of severing...

And stealing.

The ability of the female Seo Jooheon.

That monstrous swordswoman.

Majesty Jaeha's eyes widened.

“...That ability.”

“Don't tell me you awakened?!”

“Yeah.”

Jooheon grinned.

“And I borrowed a little something from that lady.”

He swept his hand through the air.

SWISH.

An invisible line appeared above Julian's head.

The contract line connecting human and Artifact.

A bond no one was supposed to interfere with.

Jooheon narrowed his eyes.

“Nice.”

“I can see it perfectly.”

He strode toward Julian.

Then reached above his head.

Like someone preparing to snap a fishing line.

Jooheon grinned.

“I'm stealing this bastard's contract.”
