Chapter 104

Chapter 104. Love Is Always Sweet and Deadly (1)

“So, to sum up what you’re saying...”

Victoria swept the floor as she neatly organized everything that had happened.

“You stepped on a cookie named Dmitri and crushed him, so Caesar got furious and attacked you using the kin he had spent all night creating. But the moment everyone found out Caesar himself was about to spoil, his subordinate Brutus betrayed him. Then Caesar got angry and released the gluten-degrading enzyme he had secretly installed, causing himself and all his kin to crumble apart together.”

Yukgap hurriedly nodded.

“That’s exactly what happened.”

Victoria stared at him closely.

“Did you dream all that?”

“I wish it had been a dream!”

Yukgap felt wronged, but Victoria still looked unconvinced.

“How does that make any sense? Cookies formed an army and even staged a rebellion?”

“Believe it or don’t. I don’t care.”

Honestly, even Yukgap could barely believe what he had witnessed.

Who knew the world of cookies could be so vicious and political?

“Still, it’s a shame.”

Victoria looked genuinely saddened by Caesar’s demise.

“He was such a cute little assistant. I can’t believe he went out like that.”

Yukgap quickly warned her.

“Just in case you’re thinking about it, don’t make any more living cookies.”

“One disaster in the restaurant was enough.”

“But living cookies sound amazing!”

Victoria’s eyes sparkled.

“It’s like something straight out of a fairy tale. I think it sounds fun.”

“Fairy tale, my ass. It felt more like watching a cheap political drama.”

Whatever else had happened, the restaurant was now covered in cookie crumbs.

They had already been cleaning for hours.

Yukgap did not even want to imagine what disaster would happen if Victoria created another living dessert.

“Excuse me. Is anyone here?”

While they were busy cleaning, an unfamiliar man suddenly stepped into the restaurant.

Yukgap, who had been sweeping nearby, greeted him.

“A customer?”

“I saw an advertisement saying Restaurant Shelley also handles confectionery and desserts.”

The man spoke hesitantly.

Yukgap tilted his head.

“We never put out an ad like th...”

He stopped.

Then slowly turned toward Victoria.

“You did this, didn’t you?”

Whenever something strange happened at Restaurant Shelley, there was usually only one possible cause.

Sure enough, Victoria avoided his gaze and offered an excuse.

“I just wanted to advertise the restaurant’s new area of business.”

“A lot of famous restaurants are praised for their desserts too.”

Apparently, she had already placed an advertisement in that short amount of time.

The man looked at Yukgap desperately.

“I’ve heard the rumors.”

“They say that no matter how impossible the dish, Restaurant Shelley will accept the request if someone asks.”

“That’s not exactly wrong.”

Yukgap answered flatly.

“But I can’t guarantee the result.”

“I don’t care!”

The man sounded desperate.

“I’ve never been more urgent in my life!”

At that point, even Victoria became curious.

“What exactly happened?”

The man lowered his head and hesitated before finally confessing.

“A coworker I’ve had an unrequited love for, for a very long time, is being sent overseas for work.”

The moment Victoria heard that, a shrill gasp escaped her.

“Oh my!”

“I never had the courage to tell her how I felt.”

The man looked as though he might cry.

“So all this time, I’ve only watched her from a distance.”

“But when I think about her leaving the country indefinitely like this... I can barely breathe.”

He continued with a trembling voice.

“I heard that she likes chocolate.”

“So I’m planning to confess while giving her chocolate.”

“That’s why I came here.”

He swallowed nervously.

“I was wondering if I could order some kind of special chocolate that might help me capture her heart.”

So he wanted to order chocolate for his confession.

Yukgap was stunned by the unexpected request.

Putting everything else aside, did chocolate capable of capturing someone’s heart even exist?

“We’re a restaurant, not some kind of romance consulting service.”

“Making chocolate like that is imposs...”

“We’ll do it!”

“We absolutely will!”

“Please let us do it!”

Before Yukgap could finish refusing, Victoria’s eyes lit up and she accepted the request without hesitation.

Yukgap immediately protested.

“Are you insane?”

“What are we supposed to do after accepting something like this?”

“But it’s such a beautiful story!”

Victoria looked like she had completely lost all reason.

“He’s asking for special chocolate to win the heart of someone he’s loved from afar!”

“Turning down a wonderful request like that would be inhuman!”

The moment romance became involved, Victoria had clearly stopped thinking rationally.

Yukgap knew from painful experience that there was no stopping her once she entered this state.

“Is it really possible?”

The man looked at her with the faintest glimmer of hope.

Victoria answered confidently.

“Of course!”

“There is no such thing as an impossible field in alchemy.”

“There are only fields that have yet to be conquered!”

“Just trust Victoria, the genius and beautiful alchemist!”

Watching her, Yukgap sighed.

“I just hope we get normal food this time.”

“There’s nothing as contradictory and powerful as the emotion called love.”

Victoria explained while moving various alchemy tools around.

“And there are few subjects humanity has debated for as long.”

Yukgap watched from the corner with an uneasy expression.

“Fine, but what are you actually going to do?”

“Can you make some kind of love potion with alchemy?”

“If I could, I’d already be sitting on a mountain of money.”

Victoria answered firmly.

“Unfortunately, true love cannot be created through alchemy.”

Yukgap stared at her in disbelief.

Hadn’t Victoria been the one who confidently accepted the request just moments ago?

“Then what are you going to do about this order?”

“Yukgap.”

Instead of answering, Victoria asked him a strange question.

“What do you think is the biggest factor that makes someone feel attracted to the opposite sex?”

The biggest factor in attraction?

Yukgap shrugged.

“Looks, maybe?”

Victoria shook her head.

“Wrong.”

“The biggest factor is pheromones.”

As she spoke, Victoria dripped a small amount of pink liquid into a flask.

A suspicious-looking pink vapor rose from it.

“Two people can look at the exact same person, and one might find them attractive while the other feels nothing at all.”

“Personal preference plays a role, of course.”

“But pheromone response also accounts for a significant part of it.”

Victoria smiled contentedly as the pink vapor filled the flask.

Yukgap had no idea what exactly she was doing, but apparently this was the core of her plan.

“You know those people who aren’t particularly good-looking, but for some reason always attract the opposite sex?”

“That’s because they possess pheromones that draw people in.”

“Women are often unconsciously attracted to men who stimulate them.”

Victoria sounded completely serious.

Yukgap’s reaction remained lukewarm.

“So you’re planning to mix pheromones into the chocolate?”

“Unfortunately, pheromones are volatile substances, so they can’t be mixed directly into food.”

“But I can coat the inside of the container with multiple layers.”

Victoria launched into an excited explanation.

“The moment she opens the box, the highly concentrated pheromones inside will burst out.”

“The woman, intoxicated by the pheromones, will feel her heart start racing before she even realizes it.”

“And that’s when he makes his confession with something romantic!”

“Done!”

Victoria sounded almost as excited as if she were the one confessing.

Yukgap looked doubtful.

“This still sounds incredibly unreliable.”

“Don’t worry.”

Victoria smiled.

“When it comes to love, I am always completely serious.”

With that, she pulled down a lever in the corner of the laboratory.

Bluish electricity flashed violently through the room.

Victoria threw her head back and laughed ominously.

“Now, my creation!”

“Open your eyes!”

“And become the foundation of a beautiful love!”

“Muahahahahaha!”

“Ta-da! Finished!”

Victoria confidently held out a metal box about the size of her palm.

Considering all the commotion and advanced technology she had used, it looked surprisingly ordinary.

“It’s smaller than I expected.”

“That can’t be helped if I want to keep the pheromones highly concentrated.”

“So we just keep this here until the customer comes back for it?”

Victoria immediately shook her head.

“I told you before.”

“Pheromones are volatile, so they’re difficult to store for long.”

“Then what do we do?”

“We deliver it personally.”

“I already got the address.”

Yukgap stared at her.

“Don’t tell me you expect me to deliver it.”

“Why not?”

Victoria answered as though it were obvious.

“If you have the ability to break the sound barrier, this is exactly when you should use it!”

Apparently, she had planned for Yukgap to make the delivery from the beginning.

“I never thought I’d use supersonic acceleration for something like this.”

It was strange to say after deserting, but Abraxas probably never imagined the power they had given him would one day be used for food delivery.

“You’re helping someone’s love come true.”

Victoria lightly scolded him.

“You’re using your power for a good cause, so take some pride in it.”

Yukgap sighed.

“Fine. Whatever.”

He picked up the box.

Victoria hurriedly stopped him.

“Oh, right! There’s one thing you need to be careful about!”

“What now?”

Yukgap answered dryly.

“Did you put a self-destruct mechanism in it?”

Victoria’s expression became unusually serious.

“Like I said earlier, this box contains highly concentrated pheromones.”

“If it opens even a little, the pheromones will spray out and cause serious chaos.”

“So absolutely do not open the box until right before delivery.”

“Understand?”

Yukgap looked down at the box in his hand and muttered uneasily,

“So it has something even scarier than a self-destruct mechanism.”
