Chapter 105

Chapter 105. Love Is Always Sweet and Deadly (2)

“Good. It’s not that far.”

Yukgap muttered after checking the address.

For an ordinary person, it would have been a considerable drive.

For him, though, it was close enough to treat as a light jog.

He loosened up his body, then gripped the chocolate box Victoria had given him.

“I’ll drop this off and come straight back.”

With that, he kicked off the ground and shot forward.

The scenery around him rapidly blurred together until everything seemed to melt into one.

It was the same view he saw whenever he used his acceleration ability.

Whenever he entered this world of speed, he strangely felt as though he had been left alone in an empty world.

After running for a while, an old woman suddenly stepped out from around a corner.

She was only a few meters away.

Yukgap’s eyes widened, and he immediately tried to stop.

“Uwaaah!”

But he had already pushed his acceleration too far.

His body refused to halt in time.

He staggered several times before crashing straight into the old woman.

“Oh my!”

She screamed and tumbled to the ground.

Yukgap panicked and hurriedly helped her up.

“Ma’am, are you all right?”

Thankfully, he had managed to slow himself down enough to avoid the worst possible outcome.

Still, she was elderly.

Even getting hit by an ordinary adult man could have caused a serious injury.

“Ugh...”

The old woman groaned faintly in Yukgap’s arms.

Did I hurt her badly?

Just as he started worrying, the woman suddenly opened her eyes.

She stared straight at Yukgap.

Then her expression changed in shock.

“...Honey?”

“What?”

Yukgap froze at the unexpected word.

Tears immediately began streaming down the woman’s face as she threw her arms around his waist.

“Honey! Where have you been all this time?”

“Do you know how much I missed you?”

Apparently, she had mistaken him for her husband.

Yukgap had no idea what to do with the old woman suddenly clinging to him.

“Does she have dementia or something?”

The woman ignored his confusion and pleaded desperately.

“Honey, don’t go anywhere again!”

“Come live with me!”

“Ma’am? I’m not your husband.”

Yukgap hurriedly tried to explain.

“Please look carefully.”

The old woman stared at his face.

Then, without warning, she started feeling his thigh.

She tilted her head.

“That can’t be.”

“These rock-hard thighs... and these firm calves...”

“They feel exactly like my husband’s.”

“Aaaaagh! Why are you suddenly touching me?!”

Yukgap jumped in alarm at the hand sliding over him.

The woman showed no intention of stopping.

“It is you!”

“I’d know the feel of these thighs anywhere!”

“Please calm down!”

Despite Yukgap’s desperate plea, the woman became even more persistent.

“Thighs! Thighs!”

“Haaah... rock-hard man thighs!”

“Ma’am, you don’t actually have dementia, do you?”

While Yukgap struggled helplessly in her grasp, several elderly women of similar age appeared from around the corner.

“What’s all the fuss?”

“Did something happen?”

“I heard somebody shouting about thighs.”

Apparently, there was a senior center nearby.

The women stared at Yukgap.

Then their faces flushed as they began whispering among themselves.

“Oh my, I don’t know where that young man lives, but he’s awfully handsome.”

“Isn’t he? Look at that neat little face. Like a freshly peeled chestnut.”

“Looking at him reminds me of my husband who went to Bukmangsan before me.”

The old women giggled while throwing Yukgap disturbingly intense looks.

Only then did Yukgap realize something.

His hand was empty.

“N-No way...”

He frantically looked around.

Soon, he spotted the chocolate box lying on the ground.

The lid had popped halfway open.

Apparently, the collision had caused it.

Do not open the box under any circumstances until right before delivery.

Victoria’s warning flashed through his mind.

“Young man, why don’t you come over and have some fruit?”

“We were getting lonely with only women around here.”

“And then such a handsome young man just rolls right in.”

“Why don’t you call me noona just once?”

The elderly women slowly began surrounding Yukgap.

Every one of them looked like a predator eyeing prey.

Just watching them made a chill run down his spine.

“I’m sorry! I’m in a hurry!”

Yukgap hurriedly peeled the old woman off himself.

Then he snatched up the fallen chocolate box.

He had no idea how much pheromone had leaked out.

But considering this was one of Victoria’s inventions, the aftermath was bound to be ridiculous.

“Where do you think you’re going?!”

“Catch him! Don’t let him get away!”

“The thighs are escaping!”

Sure enough, the elderly women rushed him like starving beasts.

Yukgap was amazed they even had that much strength.

“Damn it. I’m taking a shortcut!”

He escaped from the pursuing women and ducked quickly between the buildings.

According to the map, there was a faster route to his destination through this area.

“Oh my, young man! Out shopping?”

A shrill female voice suddenly called out the moment he entered the street.

Yukgap flinched and turned.

A middle-aged woman in an apron was waving at him from a vegetable shop across the road.

“Come by my place.”

“I’ll give you plenty of freebies.”

Yukgap slowly looked up.

Then one particular sign caught his eye.

Traditional Market.

Whispering voices began reaching him from every direction.

“He looks kind of lean, but sturdy too. Thin firewood burns hotter, you know.”

“No idea where he’s from, but he’s handsome.”

“He must work out. Those muscles peeking through are no joke.”

“He’s cute. I like men who look ordinary but still have that subtle masculine feel.”

Eyes poured toward him from all over the market.

Stall owners.

Shopkeepers.

Middle-aged female customers.

Grandmothers sitting inside little grocery stores.

Every woman in sight seemed completely bewitched by Yukgap.

“You’re telling me I have to walk through this place?”

Yukgap hugged the chocolate box tightly to his chest and swallowed dryly.

Once he passed through the market and walked a little farther, he would reach his destination.

It was too late to take some huge detour now.

More than anything, he just wanted to finish delivering this cursed order.

Just get it over with.

With that single thought, Yukgap stepped into the market packed with women.

“Meeeeow.”

Suddenly, a black cat ran over and began rubbing itself against his legs.

It looked almost as though it were flirting with him.

“Eh?”

Yukgap recoiled in shock.

Then animals began pouring toward him from every corner of the market.

Stray cats.

Loose dogs.

Even pigeons.

“Meeeeeow!”

“Woof! Woof woof!”

Flap flap flap!

As if enchanted, the animals swarmed Yukgap and began showering him with affection.

No way.

No way, no way, no way.

Yukgap desperately tried to deny what he was seeing.

But the animals’ behavior was far too abnormal.

He instinctively screamed,

“Aaaaagh! Don’t tell me these pheromones don’t even care about species?!”

Apparently, the high-concentration pheromones Victoria had created attracted every female regardless of species.

“What the hell did Victoria make?”

Yukgap trembled as he stared at the chocolate box in his arms.

A shiver ran down his spine.

He had seen all kinds of bizarre inventions from Victoria over the years.

But none had frightened him as much as this one.

No. 7 walked casually along the sidewalk with sunglasses pulled low over her eyes.

She had already been in Korea for quite some time.

Since headquarters had given them separate instructions, she had originally expected plenty of chances to run wild.

Yet somehow, no particularly interesting orders ever came.

Meanwhile, No. 11 had pushed himself too hard spreading bacteria and ended up physically collapsing.

Whatever scheme he had been preparing was now on hold.

Once the brain of the team ended up like that, the other Archons lost interest and started lazing around in the hideout.

At least No. 8 and No. 10 preferred staying shut inside their rooms rather than wandering outside.

In a way, this was one of the rare periods of rest the Archons ever got.

Except for No. 7.

“I really can’t grow attached to this country.”

No. 7 muttered while looking over the Korean cityscape through her sunglasses.

She had only come outside because sitting around was boring, but she did not particularly like what she saw.

The land was cramped.

There were too many buildings.

The air was polluted.

She had traveled through many countries while carrying out Abraxas’s orders, but few places felt as suffocating as this.

“Excuse me.”

While she was walking, an unfamiliar man approached with a flushed face.

No. 7 asked indifferently,

“What?”

“You’re exactly my type.”

The man awkwardly held out his smartphone.

“If it’s okay, could I get your number?”

Again.

No. 7 grinned.

“Sorry, but I’m married.”

“Oh. I see.”

The man stepped back awkwardly.

“Sorry about that.”

He gave up much faster than expected.

No. 7 had secretly hoped he would become persistent.

Then she could have had some fun tearing him apart.

The thought made her smile lightly.

Does he even realize how close he just came to dying?

It did not matter if he did not.

As far as she was concerned, men were remarkably consistent creatures.

“Men really are the same no matter what country you’re in.”

She had traveled all over the world.

And wherever she went, men always ended up following her somehow.

All she ever did was walk down the street or meet someone’s eyes once.

Yet they would still come running with their eyes lit up.

Inferior creatures soaked in lust.

Whenever it happened, No. 7 always found herself thinking the same thing.

“Though there are exceptions.”

Elegant, yet strong.

Plain in a strange way, yet somehow someone she wanted to lean on.

The one exception she had ever met.

“I wonder what Zeta’s doing.”

She murmured his designation out of habit.

No. 6.

No.

He called himself Yukgap now.

Whatever.

Truthfully, ever since coming to Korea, she had quietly hoped she might run into him again.

She had heard that the other Archons had actually encountered Yukgap and even fought him.

Yet for some reason, that opportunity never came to her.

She never said it out loud, but No. 7 felt strangely disappointed.

Almost as though he were deliberately avoiding only her.
