Chapter 159

Chapter 159. You’re Stronger Now, Charge! (1)

“Your nanomachines are certainly powerful.”

No. 4 walked through the blood-red mist spread around the area.

A thick chain was wrapped around one of his hands.

It was the weapon he had used to strike No. 5 earlier.

“But they can’t disassemble my overtechnology weapon, the carbon-reinforced chains Abraxas gave me.”

“You should know that better than anyone.”

No. 4 wrapped the carbon-reinforced chains around both arms like gauntlets.

No. 5 manipulated the nanomachines thickly spread around them and answered,

“That doesn’t matter.”

“I can still disassemble the body holding those chains!”

No. 5 slammed her tail hard against the floor.

At once, the surrounding nanomachines surged toward No. 4.

Every part of No. 4’s body except the carbon-reinforced chains began rapidly breaking down.

“Then I’ll kill you before that happens!”

Realizing a prolonged fight would put him at a disadvantage, No. 4 charged.

He wrapped the chains around his body like armor and rushed straight through the nanomachines.

He looked like a massive black tank.

But No. 5 showed no fear.

“I was about to say the same thing!”

She swung her blade-like claws and met No. 4 head-on.

The two collided directly.

Their sizes were similar.

Unfortunately, No. 4 was far stronger.

“Ghk!”

No. 5 swallowed a groan as the impact sent her tumbling away.

No. 4 sneered.

“Did you seriously think you could beat me in raw strength?”

No. 5 grinned.

“That doesn’t matter.”

“I only need to give you one small wound.”

No. 4 suddenly noticed a faint pain in his hand.

He looked down in alarm.

There was a tiny cut across it.

During their brief collision, No. 5 had managed to scratch him with one of her claws.

“Damn it!”

No. 4’s expression twisted.

The surrounding nanomachines immediately swarmed toward that tiny wound.

They looked like a pack of red beasts charging toward the smallest opening in his flesh.

No. 5 focused.

“Disassemble!”

She slammed her heavy tail into the ground again.

The nanomachines rapidly invaded No. 4’s hand and arm.

The wound widened.

Flesh melted away.

White bone became visible underneath.

It was a horrifying ability.

“Aaaaaagh!”

No. 4 screamed from the agony of having his flesh stripped away while still alive.

No. 5 clenched her teeth as she controlled the nanomachines.

“Good.”

“If I keep pushing like this... Cough!”

A sharp cough suddenly tore out of her throat.

That was only the beginning.

It felt as though something were ripping through her body from the inside.

Violent coughing and searing pain followed one after another.

“Cough! Cough!”

No. 5 dropped to one knee.

Her vision spun.

A headache began pounding through her skull.

“It’s a bacteria specially manufactured by No. 11.”

No. 4 watched her with gleaming eyes.

“We were vaccinated beforehand, so we already have antibodies.”

“But you weren’t.”

“You’ll find breathing difficult.”

No. 5 ground her teeth.

“To use such a cheap trick.”

“Are you not ashamed to call yourself a member of the Extermination Team?”

“You’re the one defying Alpha and turning against Abraxas!”

No. 4 lost his composure at the accusation and charged.

He put his full weight behind a punch to No. 5’s face.

“Ghk!”

No. 5 was knocked helplessly to the side.

At the same time, the nanomachines around them began losing momentum.

One after another, their movements slowed.

No. 4 quickly analyzed the situation.

“The bacteria has spread too far for you to move properly.”

“Your control over the nanomachines is much slower than before.”

“At this level, my regeneration can keep up.”

The damaged flesh on No. 4’s arm slowly began restoring itself.

The nanomachines still hung thickly in the air, but they were no longer attacking with their earlier ferocity.

They merely floated around as red mist.

No. 5 breathed heavily and glared at him.

“I won’t... let you...”

“Shut up!”

No. 4 gave her no chance to recover.

His fist slammed into her again.

No. 5 could only swallow groans as the attacks landed one-sidedly.

“Ghk!”

“Without your nanomachines, you can’t do much.”

“You’re probably struggling just to stay conscious right now.”

No. 4 looked down at her bloodied body and slowly raised an arm.

The limb wrapped in carbon-reinforced chain looked like a gigantic club.

He breathed heavily.

“Let’s finish this.”

No. 5 squeezed her eyes shut.

No. 4’s fist came down with a violent whoosh.

“That’s not happening.”

Someone suddenly rushed between them.

Victoria.

“W-What are you doing?!”

No. 4 immediately stopped his punch and jumped back in alarm.

Alpha had explicitly ordered him to bring Victoria back alive.

If he hurt her, Alpha’s anger would be terrifying.

“Here!”

“Take this!”

Victoria quickly plunged a syringe into the fallen No. 5’s neck.

No. 4 panted.

“What did you inject into her?”

Victoria grinned.

“Thanks.”

“You bought me enough time to create an antibody.”

“Now she can fight as much as she wants.”

Just as Victoria said, the moment the fluid from the syringe entered No. 5’s body, her symptoms rapidly began subsiding.

No. 4 stared in shock.

“You made an antibody in that short amount of time?”

Victoria answered casually,

“The Philosopher’s Stone keeps my body in an ideal state at all times.”

“That includes my immune system.”

“Bacteria basically don’t work on me.”

“Even if I do get infected, my body immediately creates antibodies and resists it.”

Then she deliberately emphasized one point.

“In other words...”

“That disgusting fatty’s ability doesn’t work on me!”

No. 5 slowly rose to her feet.

Her expression had hardened into something vicious.

“Doctor Frankenstein.”

“Impressive.”

“I can breathe properly again.”

Unlike before, she was not coughing at all.

She simply stared at No. 4, who had beaten her relentlessly.

“I’ve received your attacks.”

“Now it’s time for ‘punishment.’”

No. 5 slammed her massive tail into the ground.

The surrounding nanomachines came alive again.

They surged violently toward No. 4 and swallowed him whole.

“Aaaaaagh!”

No. 4 screamed as his body began melting apart.

No. 5 shouted through clenched teeth,

“Disassemble!”

Perhaps because her concentration had fully returned, the nanomachines attacked even more viciously than before.

No. 4 gritted his teeth and charged blindly.

“You think something like this can stop me?!”

Apparently, he intended to overwhelm No. 5 with brute strength before his body was completely disassembled.

Then a flat mechanical voice came from the wall.

[Automatic defense system activated.]

[Attacking intruder.]

[Attacking intruder.]

Sharp metal spikes suddenly erupted from the wall and pierced straight through No. 4’s body.

Not just one.

Two.

Three.

Four.

More and more pointed rods drove through him without pause.

Already bloodied from the nanomachines, No. 4 had no chance to defend against the sudden attack.

“W-What did you do?!”

His movements were completely restrained in an instant.

Victoria looked at him coldly.

“For your information...”

“No. 5 wasn’t the only one who received the antibody.”

Nova walked out beside Victoria looking exhausted.

She swept her sweat-soaked silver hair back and muttered irritably,

“Did you really think this place wouldn’t have any security systems?”

With that, Nova slammed a switch on the wall.

A massive electric current surged through the metal rods piercing No. 4.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!”

No. 4 screamed as the brutal current wracked his entire body.

Nova looked at him and muttered,

“Who gave you permission to take my brain?”

“Disgusting.”

“Our faces regenerate in a few seconds even if the skin gets peeled off.”

No. 3 dragged his longsword toward Yukgap.

Then he aimed the flat of the blade directly at Yukgap’s face and sneered.

“That’s what makes this so great.”

“I can play with you for a long time.”

Yukgap glared at him with open contempt.

“You lunatic.”

No. 3 looked completely unfazed.

“For some reason, I get excited when people call me that.”

He smiled sadistically and raised his longsword.

The tip pointed directly at Yukgap’s face.

Then, at that exact moment, red mist began spreading around them.

“Hm?”

No. 3 paused after sensing something strange.

Victoria came rushing through the crimson haze.

“Yukgap!”

Yukgap stared at her in surprise.

“Victoria?”

“Why didn’t you run?”

“How could I run away and leave a weakling like you behind?”

Yukgap immediately bristled.

“Weakling?!”

“If it weren’t for those bacteria they spread, I would’ve won!”

“Whatever.”

“Just take this.”

Ignoring Yukgap’s protest, Victoria jammed a syringe into his neck.

Yukgap felt the liquid surge into his body and stared at her.

“What is this?”

“Antibodies.”

“I just made them.”

Victoria gave the short answer.

Then she raised her voice.

“All right! You’re stronger now!”

“Charge!”
